Like Fake Antivirus Software fake hard disk utilities have recently surfaced in an attempt to trick users who wont be fooled again by a fake Antivirus software. These new types of rogues tell the user they have severe errors and or other issues with the computer’s hard disk. In a lot of cases I’ve seen real damage done to files and folders by these types of infections.

They have been using names like HDD Diagnostic and Hard Drive Diagnostic and sometimes referred to as rogue defragger. Just like the fake Antivirus, these rogues are malware and will use whatever force necessary to get the user to buy into their lie. Do NOT try to purchase these programs. They will steal your information, your money, and your personal identities if they can.
